The VI THINK Conference will take place from 7th to 11th July 2019 at the Göttweig Abbey near Furth bei Göttweig, Lower Austria. The participants will arrive on Tuesday 7th in the early afternoon and leave on Saturday 11th in the morning. The travels are to be self-organised.
The whole stay will cost 65€, including three meals a day. Therefore we ask you to pay the fee of 65€ for your registration. As funding is not fully secured at this moment in time (March 2020), the ultimate costs could still vary. You will be notified about further changes both per email and on our website.
It is not necessary to hold a talk to participate in the VI THINK Conference, but it is strongly encouraged. There are two separate applications for participation and giving a talk, so you can first apply as a spectator and later also apply for a talk. The principle of first-come-first-serve applies.
Your participation application is valid when the fee of 65€ is payed before the deadline of 17th April 2020.
The abstracts for talks must be handed in before the deadline of 24th May 2020.
Further information about the exact conference programme and the location will be provided to you via email and our website.
Participation Application – Deadline 17th April 2020
To apply for participation fill out the form below and transfer the fee of 65€ to the bank account given below. If the fee changes before the conference due to funding issues you will be notified per email. As soon as your fee is registered you will receive a confirmation email.

Purpose: VI THINK Conference
Talk Application – Deadline 24th May 2020
There are three formats offered at this year’s VI THINK conference:
- Give a regular talk that lasts for 30 minutes (15-20 min talk + 10 min debate).
- Apply to host a workshop in a free format that could last up to 60 minutes.
Or team up with another conference participant to give a 60 minute joint talk about a common theme, discussed from two different scientific perspectives (30-40 min talk + debate).
To apply for a talk, workshop or joint talk you have to submit an abstract of maximal length of half a PDF page outlining what your contribution will be about and including links and references for further reading. Based on these abstracts we will select the speakers for our slots. Please be aware that the abstracts will be collected and published on our website.
We encourage you to engage with our Hot Topic 2020: Relations, to which we will dedicate several time slots. But it is also possible to speak about any topic of your choice.
Send your abstract via an email containing your name to email@example.com.
